The Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has been recieving massive scrutiny given his dip in form in the present days. Howver, former Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif seems to be pretty supportive of SKY. Kaif not only backed Yadav but also opined the Number 4 as his perfect sport to bat in the T20Is.
The t20 World Cup is coming, and its India's high chnace to create a record of being the first team to retain the trophy. For that, Surya regaining his form is crucial. Speaking to Star Sports Kaif figured out that Suryakumar is better at Number 4 than his usual Number 3 slot. Kaif said,
“His record at No.4 is better and I think he suits better at No.4, but if the opening partnership fires, if they play for 6-7 overs, in that case SKY should come in at No.3, because if he gets to play more balls, then India will benefit from it."
Kaif added,
"If a wicket falls to the new ball, then you can send in Tilak Varma. I think it’s a concern for now, but he is only one innings away from finding form. He is such a big batter, has a brilliant record and is a big-match player. If one knock comes of 50-60 runs, then the form will return."
Notably, Suryakumar played 19 T20I innings last years where he batted at Number 3 in 10 of them, There he scored. The rest nine yielded 62 runs at a low average of 6.89. At Nagpur, in the first T20I of the ongoing series against New Zealand, Sky came at Number 4, making space for Ishan Kishan at 3.

Kaif backed Kaif as a captain
Unlike Shubman Gill in Tests and ODIs, Suryakumar Yadav is actually having a pretty healthy record in the T20Is in terms of loss and wins. So far, he has been defeated in four T20I matches, and has remain unbeaten in all the bilateral series.
Backing Surya's captaincy skills, Kaif figured out Surya's bonding with the players- how he chats with them no matter what result came from the match. Kaif highlights,
"Surya’s camaraderie and chemistry with his teammates are excellent. I remember one match where even after India won, he was seen talking with players. He was focused on letting the players know about the mistakes, even after winning and how to improve them for the next game. I have seen passion from him as a captain. He has become a proper leader."
