Kolkata: Enforcement Directorate director Rahul Navin on Friday held a series of meetings with senior officials here to assess the progress of multiple investigations in West Bengal, including I-PAC raids related to the coal case.
According to sources, details of several cases being probed by ED and flow of events on the day of I-PAC raids were part of the discussion. The officers were assured that legal actions will be taken care of in connection with these cases.
The visit assumes significance in the backdrop of recent searches conducted by ED at the office of political consultancy firm I-PAC and at the residence of its director Pratik Jain in connection with a coal case on January 8.
Supreme Court is currently hearing the matter and has stayed an FIR lodged by Kolkata Police against ED in connection with the searches. Trinamool Congress has denied the agency's allegations, asserting that the agency was attempting to take away documents linked to the ruling party's election preparations ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.
I-PAC has been providing political consultancy to Trinamool-led state government since 2021.
