FIFA President to visit Pakistan ‘soon’

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has revealed his plans to visit Pakistan soon.

The 55-year-old is one of the most important figures in world football and revered by many fans of the sport worldwide.

In a recently recorded video, Gianni is filmed saying he promised the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif that he will visit Pakistan.

“Well, I will come to Pakistan, actually, very soon. I promised the prime minister, because we now have a new president of the federation who is doing a fantastic job”, he commented.

The video, which was filmed at the 56th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum summit in Davos on Thursday, has taken over social media and giving hope to the nation’s football fans that Pakistan football is on the verge of its long over due rise.

Gianni commented on the country’s football potential saying “Pakistan is a great football country, and we need to bring Pakistan to the head, the top of Asia, for sure.”

“We are working on that. Give every talent a chance, especially Pakistan” he added.

Pakistan is a nation of 250 million where the major sport has been cricket for long yet there is a huge fanbase of football in the country with promising young talent.

Fifa’s Chief of Global Football Development Arsene Wenger also spoke about the country’s talent saying “there’s a huge potential that we have to develop together”.
