M62 traffic: Drivers at a total standstill as crash sparks huge delays

A crash on the M62 has brought traffic to a total standstill, with live pictures showing heavy congestion as rush hour approaches. Traffic on the major motorway heading westbound, at junction 23 for New Hey Road, is currently being held due to an accident reported this afternoon.
Motorway camera footage from the scene shows long traffic queues on the impacted section of the M62. In an update, traffic site Inrix said: "All traffic is being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to an accident on M62 Westbound at J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield)."
