However, the most recent superhero movie to feature the Dark Knight did have one new thing to offer; a detective story.

Strangely enough, most of the Batman movies do not show him doing much detective work. The few that do (like Batman Forever) are decidedly silly and what mysteries exist are limited to The Riddler’s riddles.
