Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard has been supported by fans after she issued an update on how she is doing in her new soap job.

The actress, 68, became a household name back in the ‘80s playing Liz McDonald on the ITV soap. Liz rocked up to the cobbles with the rest of the McDonald clan, including son Steve (Simon Gregson) in 1989.

And for 30 years, she was a regular and played a part in several big storylines. From saucy flings to blazing feuds, Liz’s time on the soap was not short of drama.

But in 2019, Beverley left soap fans gutted when she confirmed she was leaving. The iconic character then said her goodbyes to soap a year later.

Since then, Beverley has kept herself busy. In 2020, she appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and she also landed a spin-off travel show with IAC co-star Jordan North.

What’s more, Beverley made her soap return recently after landing a role in Irish soap Fair City. Beverley is playing the role of Lily, who is the long-lost mother of character Gwen.

The actress is currently over in Ireland filming the soap and has been keeping fans updated on Instagram. However, this week, Beverley took to her Instagram to issue an update, revealing she is feeling under the weather.

In a video, Beverley said: “So I am having the greatest time in Dublin, I’m working really, really hard. Back-to-back scenes in the studio, I’m completely loving it, the cast are great everyone is fantastic. But... there is just one major problem.”

She added: “You’ll laugh at me, I’m full of a cold and I’m absolutely full of it and I’m convinced it’s because there’s a shortage of this.” Beverley then showed a box of Yorkshire Tea bags.

She continued: “I am not advertising but I cannot cope without Yorkshire tea. And they don’t have it at work.” Beverley then quipped: “I’ve got two tea bags left so that's made me have a cold! Please tell me where can I find Yorkshire Tea in Dublin?!”

Beverley captioned the post: “Having the best time in Dublin except I'm full of cold and desperate for a cuppa! Why can't I find Yorkshire tea anywhere?!”

Fans quickly rushed to the comments section to send their support: “Oh dear hope you feel better soon.” Another added: “Ah love get better soon.” A third penned: “Enjoy darling hope it clears up.”

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
