The Australian Open is taking serious shape now, with some players already into the fourth round in Melbourne. Last Brit standing, Cameron Norrie lost to world No. 3 Alexander Zverev on Friday night. His match came after wins for Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka overnight.

There have also been wins for Daniil Medvedev, Victoria Mboko, Learner Tien, Tommy Paul and the controversial Yulia Putintseva. Though the Russian-born Kazakhstani player was booed throughout her post-match interview after sending Turkish breakthrough star Zeynep Sonmez out of the competition.

Reigning champions Jannik Sinner and Madison Keys are in action on Saturday, also hoping to join the second week. Play has been brought forward with extreme temperatures expected in Melbourne.
