On January 23, the Suryakumar Yadav-led India made a unique record of being India's joint highest-ever successful chase in T20I cricket. India chased down 209 runs, having seven wickets in hand, leading the five-match T20I series against New Zealand by 2-0.

 

Notably, the match, apart from getting into the record list, becomes significant for the captain, Suryakumar Yadav, finally coming back to form. He stood out at 82 off just 37 balls, smacking 9 boundaries and four sixes. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan, who is playing his comeback series, stole the show with 76 runs in 32 balls—11 11 boundaries and four sixes with a strike rate of 237.50.

 

However, this is the second time India has done this. In 2023, India chased down 209 runs at Vishakhapatnam against Australia.
