After recent rainfall in Rajasthan, the state is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures, with many regions affected by a cold wave. The meteorological department reported on Saturday morning that several areas recorded extreme cold days and severe cold waves over the past 24 hours. Light rain was observed in places including Bharatpur, with hail reported in some regions.
The department noted that the minimum temperatures recorded in the last 24 hours were as follows: 0.3 degrees Celsius in Loonkaransar, 0.5 degrees in Nagaur, 0.6 degrees in Mount Abu, 2.3 degrees in Fatehpur, 2.9 degrees in Pali, 3.2 degrees in Sikar, 3.5 degrees in Sri Ganganagar, 4 degrees in Sirohi, 4.5 degrees in Jaisalmer, and 5.6 degrees in Jhunjhunu.
In the capital city of Jaipur, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 20.6 degrees and 9.4 degrees Celsius, respectively. According to the meteorological department, colder conditions are expected to persist in the state. The weather is anticipated to remain mostly dry over the next couple of days, with a forecasted drop in minimum temperatures by three to five degrees and maximum temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius due to northern winds.
Additionally, a new western disturbance is expected to become active in some parts of the state on January 26-27, with its maximum impact anticipated on January 27, bringing the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in the western and northern regions.
