Air India has cancelled all flights to and from New York and Newark on January 25 and 26 as a severe winter storm is expected to hit the US East Coast. Heavy snow and strong winds are forecast for the New York, New Jersey and adjoining areas from early Sunday morning through Monday, which is likely to affect flight operations.
The airline said the decision was taken to ensure the safety, well-being and convenience of passengers and crew.
“In view of the safety, well-being and convenience of our passengers and crew, all Air India flights to and from New York and Newark have been cancelled on 25 and 26 January,” said the airline in an official statement.

Air India said its teams will help passengers who are booked to travel on the affected dates.
