Hollywood actor and rapper Idris Elba has tested his football skills at the London Colney training ground against an England International and left social media in laughter after scoring a goal.
“The Wire” actor, who is a die-hard Arsenal fan, accepted a lighthearted penalty challenge given by midfielder Eberechi Eze.
It is not only the striking technique or penalty that captured the public’s attention but also the “unique” celebration style that left Eze in fits of laughter.
After hitting the penalty into the corner, Elba sprinted across the pitch in front of an imaginary crowd, mimicking a DJ spinning turntables, a nod to his real-life passion for music.
Reflecting on the funny penalty challenge, “Luther” star discussed the pressure of performing in front of a professional player.
“I’ve got the technique, I just need the fitness.” Referring to his DJ celebration, he said, “If I score at the Emirates, that’s the one you’re going to see.”
Eze was also impressed by the actor’s charisma, remarking, “He’s actually got a bit about him! That celebration is top tier.”
The pair also discussed the Hollywood roles best suited for the Arsenal players. Now, fans are jokingly urging Eze to “bust out the turntable” celebration if he scores a penalty in the Premier League.
