King Charles has 'one major thing' in common with Victoria and David as Brooklyn goes nuclear

If there is one thing for sure, King Charles knows a thing or two about unwelcome family drama playing out in front of the world. From his divorce with his first wife, Princess Diana, to his youngest son's shock exit from the UK back in 2020, the monarch has had to weather the storm of scandal more than a few times.

David, 50, and Victoria, 51, have also dealt with their fair share of scandalous gossip over the years. But when their eldest son Brooklyn Beckham, 26, issued a blistering six-page statement about his estrangement from his family, and expressing he has zero desire to "reconcile" with them at this stage - it cast their "picture perfect" family brand into a totally new light.

Brooklyn accused his parents of caring more about "Brand Beckham" than him, alleging that they unsuccessfully tried to get him to sign away the rights to his name, claimed they had been trying to sabotage his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, 31, and that his mum "hijacked" his first dance at his wedding, leaving him "humiliated".

Providing new insight into the first dance drama, which has caused a frenzy of memes and jokes to be posted online at the former Spice Girl's expense, DJ Fat Tony - a long-time friend of the Beckhams, who performed at Brooklyn's 2022 nuptials - gave a tell-all interview on This Morning. The DJ, who was once a fixture on the London club scene, claimed that the dance itself was not "inappropriate" as many had assumed, but instead the "timing" was the problem.

He claimed that singer Marc Anthony, who had been performing, called "the most beautiful woman in the room" to the dance floor, before cheekily adding, "...Victoria". The fashion designer did as requested, and during the "Latin" dance, the singer called for Brooklyn to grab his mum's hips. Nicola, the DJ claimed, left the room "crying her eyes out" and the eldest Beckham son was left "devastated".

However, Fat Tony claimed that Victoria was not totally at fault, saying, "Victoria was thrown into that situation," too. He added that "The dance is a very small part of the bigger problem," amid the ongoing family feud.

The similarities between Brooklyn's major public outburst and confessions Prince Harry has made about the internal dysfunction in the House of Windsor are pretty striking. Royal expert, Afua Acheampong-Hagan, explains to the Mirror, "You've got two powerful families that want to protect their brands, two sons who have just decided to do what they want, who have married a woman that they love.

"Two sons who have decided to speak their truth and not keep the secrets and they've decided to lift that gilded curtain and they both don’t seem to mind if that goes nuclear and good for them."

However, at least for Prince Harry, over time, tempers seem to have cooled. After years of strained relationships following his public bombshells, the Duke of Sussex enjoyed a tentative reunion with his father King Charles last summer - though no improvement is said to have been made with his brother, Prince William.

The expert explains that there is perhaps one significant difference between William's attitude and the King's when it comes to mending fences with Harry. "Maybe Charles recognises his wrongs, and in the back of his mind he is probably like 'well he's got a point.'

"Harry has said the quiet part out loud. Charles has made some mistakes over the years, and he has to have some sort of accountability and he probably thinks to himself, 'I played a part in why my son now feels the way that he does'. That's probably why he is more open to reconciliation than William is."

It seems this might be some common ground that the monarch shares with David and Victoria. Inside sources reported in the Mail claim that the footballing icon and former Spice Girl have been dealing with some "guilt" since Brooklyn released his shock statement, about the part they might have played in the "hurt" their eldest son is feeling.

There is "quite an element of guilt" the insider told the outlet, for David and Victoria, as they deal with their own feelings on the public scolding from their son, which sources told the Mirror left Victoria "in bits".

"Everyone is in shock," the source said to us, "But Victoria is totally in pieces over this. But, she is worried, as is David, that this will be the end of Brand Beckham, with the claims of the falseness and pretend relationships; they are worried about what else he is going to come out with. They're still blaming Nicola, feeling she had put him up to this, and it's all to do with her; they're constantly blaming Nicola."

The insider speaking the Mail also noted, "This is a statement that has caused David and Victoria a lot of hurt but it also shows that Brooklyn is hurting, too. It's a huge mess – who knows where this will end?"
