Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Jeremy Jacquet after Stade Rennais boss Habib Beye admitted anything is possible between now and the end of the window. The Blues remain locked in negotiations with the Ligue 1 club, who are reluctant to sell the 20-year-old midway through the season.
One option being suggested is the France Under-21 international joining Chelsea this month before returning to Roazhon Park for the remainder of the campaign. Jacquet is understood to want a move to Stamford Bridge to go ahead if a deal can be agreed.
And Beye has admitted: “There are still a few days left in the transfer window; anything can happen. We need things to be as calm as possible.”
A fee of £60m has been spoken about, and Beye’s update comes days just after he admitted a transfer could happen due to the economics involved.
“I’m amazed by the calm with which he’s handling this situation. I felt he was very focused on what he’s currently experiencing,” he said.

“There’s an economic reality, and I won’t always have the final say. What I said was that when you’re a team like Stade Rennais and you have high ambitions, as a coach, I want to keep my best players and have the strongest team possible. Jeremy is one of those players.
“We’ve been very, very clear about Jeremy’s situation; he’s stable, and that’s the most important thing for us. There are still a few days left in the transfer window.
“Anything can happen. We need things to be as calm as possible, which would be best for me.”

Asked about the prospect of signging Jacquet ahead of his side's win over Pafos, Chelsea bossLiam Rosenior said: "You'll know about me, I don't speak about players at other clubs until something is agreed with any player.
"I think it's so disrespectful. If I was a manager of another team and a manager was speaking about my player, I wouldn't be a happy person. So whether it's true or whether it's not, I'll speak about that at the right time."
But Rosenior wants any new signings to make a 'clear impact' on the team. He said: “So we have to be very selective at this stage of the season.
"If we do bring in the right player in a certain position, they have to have a clear impact on the team.”
