Arsenal could pocket some serious cash reserves in January thanks to some clever sell-on clauses added into transfer deals. Serie A stars Nuno Tavares and Brooke Norton-Cuffy - both former Gunners - are potentially going to be on the move this month and any potential deals will benefit their old club.

Currently, Tavares has attracted interest from Besiktas for an asking price of £13million. Meanwhile, Norton-Cuffy is being targeted by many clubs including Newcastle, Everton, Juventus, West Ham and Napoli for a fee of £17.5m.

Tavares, who currently plays left-back for Lazio, signed from Benficain July 2021 and made 28 appearances in north London. He scored once before going on loan at Marseilleand Nottingham Forest.

He departed the Emirates Stadium in 2024 on loan to the Italians. This deal became permanent last summer for approximately £7.85m alongside a 35% sell-on fee reportedly inserted by Arsenal.

This means that if the £13m asking price is met, then Mikel Arteta will pocket up to £4.5m to add to his budget for the first-team squad.

Norton-Cuffy came up through the famous Hale End academy at Arsenal, signing his first professional contract in 2021. The defender only appeared for the U18 and U21's squads, never making his senior debut for Arsenal before he departed just three years later.

The U21 European Championship winner left north London in 2024 to sign for Genoa in a deal worth an initial £1.75m - with the same amount available in bonuses.

Fortunately, the Gunners added in a sell-on clause that will allow them to pocket a percentage of any deal struck with future clubs. GiveMeSport reports that three Premier League clubs are interested in securing the 22-year-old with the Magpies desperate for cover in the right-back area.

Everton are planning for a long-term replacement for veteran defender Seamus Coleman, who returned to the matchday squad recently after a hamstring injury. The report claims Norton-Cuffy has dreams of playing in the Premier League as Juventus and Napoli also register interest in the young right-back.

The Gunners are yet to make any moves in the transfer market themselves but Arteta is already eyeing up the potential financial boost that could improve his available transfer kitty from making some smart moves in selling fringe players in the past.
