After all, is the King Cobra the most poisonous?

It is true that King Cobra also has a special place among the poisonous snakes of the world. This snake, about 19 feet long and weighing 7 kg, hunts other animals. Among the snakes found in India, King Cobra and Indian Cobra are considered to be the most poisonous. It is said that the Indian Cobra has more dangerous poison in its teeth than the King Cobra. The King Cobra is slightly less aggressive than the Indian Cobra, which is seven feet long and weighs about three kilos. Its large body only hinders its agility. Therefore, the Indian cobra is more poisonous.

How much poison is released when king cobra bites?

About 1.28 mg of poison is released in the bite of King Cobra, whereas about 170 to 250 mg of poison is released in the bite of Indian Cobra or Cobra. According to a report, in India, about 150 to 160 people die every day due to bites of different types of snakes.

The poisonous teeth of Indian cobra and king cobra are also different. King cobra's teeth are about 0.3 inches long. Their structure is such that it provides good grip while cutting. This snake releases its poison by holding tightly. But when the Indian cobra bites, it releases its poison by making chewing movements. Indian cobra has smaller teeth as compared to king cobra.

King Cobra, whose scientific name is Ophiophagus Hanna, despite being large in size, survives by eating small animals like water snakes, chickens and rats. However, it can sometimes be seen struggling to catch a slightly larger animal such as a sheep. It is mostly found in cold areas. Snake catching experts release the captured snake within a radius of about three kilometers without causing any danger to its life.
