Super-6, U19 World Cup: To progress in any sport, victory is necessary. But in the Under 19 ODI World Cup 2026, there was one cricket team which reached the next round of the tournament without winning any match. He has confirmed his place in the Super Six of the tournament. We are talking about New Zealand cricket team. It is not that New Zealand did not play matches in the Under-19 World Cup. He played 3 matches but could not win even a single one. Despite this, it reached the Super Six.

Know how New Zealand went to Super-6 without winning the match?

Now the question is that despite playing the match and not winning, how did the New Zealand Under-19 team make it to the Super-6 of the tournament? New Zealand played its first match against USA on January 18, which was washed out due to rain and due to which both the teams had to share 1-1 points.

After this, New Zealand's second match was against Bangladesh on January 20 and that too was washed out due to rain. As a result, here too we were forced to distribute points 1-1. In the last match of the group stage, the New Zealand team faced India in the Under-19 World Cup, in which it lost by 7 wickets.

But, the defeat against India did not affect New Zealand's health. After 3-3 matches played in the group stage, New Zealand had 1 point more than USA and managed to make it to the Super Six. In the Under-19 ODI World Cup, 16 teams were divided into 4 groups, out of which the top 3 teams from each group would get a place in the Super Six. New Zealand got the advantage of having one point more than USA, which is present in Group B along with India and Bangladesh.
