' Chatha Pacha ' has hit the big screens and it is now being hailed as the first full-length WWE-style action comedy film in Malayalam. The movie stars Arjun Ashokan , Roshan Mathew , Vishak Nair, and Ishan Shoukath in the main roles.

One of the biggest talking points of the film is Mammootty ’s cameo appearance. Even though it is a guest role, his character Walter plays a very important part in the story. His entry adds surprise and excitement, which is also getting mixed talks from the viewers.

Mammootty talks about Walter

Mammootty recently spoke about the film and his character during the success celebration event held in Kochi. He explained how he understood the role of Walter in the story.

Mammootty said, “In the film, the way I understood the character Walter is that he is the childhood hero of these boys. At some point, he had left the town. All of them are from Kochi. After a long time, when he returns, it is mainly to surprise these boys. He speaks the Kochi slang from the time when he left the place. I tried to speak that language and shape the look in a way that the identity of the character does not get lost. He is not speaking the Kochi language that is spoken now. He is speaking the older Kochi slang. Because of that, the present-day kids might feel a slight disconnect. But if you look at it that way, it will connect.”

He also made it clear that he did not improvise anything for the role. He simply followed what the makers wanted.

A speech full of fun

Mammootty spoke in a very light and funny mood during the event. He shared how he even asked the producer if his presence was really needed.

He said, “When I needed some rest, I asked Shoukath, the producer, ‘Do you really need me? Should I come? Can’t you shoot it without me?’ He replied saying that from the very beginning of the film, they keep mentioning my name, and if I don’t appear, people will start asking questions.”

Mammootty then added, “So I told them, ‘Kids, I am trusting you and coming. I don’t have much idea about this kind of thing.’ I did exactly what they told me to do.”

No extra effort from his side

Mammootty openly said that he did not try to do anything special or extra in the film. He just followed instructions because he did not want to spoil anything.

He said, “Then I thought to myself, after being called a big actor and all, I shouldn’t go there and mess things up in front of them. So I only did what they asked me to do. I didn’t add anything extra on my own. Whether it turns out good or bad, I don’t have any responsibility for it.”

He ended his words with a smile, and the crowd responded with loud applause and laughter.

Meanwhile, Mammootty’s cameo in 'Chatha Pacha' has received mixed reactions from viewers. Some enjoyed the surprise, while others felt it was not needed. Our ETimes review said, “And, of course, there is a major cameo. It didn’t have to be him, but it certainly serves as an added bonus.”
