New Delhi: In a significant move to consolidate his leadership, Tejashwi Yadav has been unanimously appointed as the National Working President of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)

The decision was finalized during the party’s national executive meeting in Patna, signaling a formal strengthening of his role within the organization founded by his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav. As the current Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, this elevation officially cements Tejashwi's position at the helm of the party's national operations.

RJD leaders noted that this appointment merely formalizes Tejashwi’s long-standing influence over political and organizational strategy. For years, he has operated as the party’s de facto head, a role reinforced last year when the national executive granted him final authority over candidate selection and internal disputes regarding party symbols.

While the move provides a more defined leadership structure ahead of future political contests, it arrives amidst reports of growing friction within the Yadav family.

Rohini Acharya veiled dig

Ealier today, ahead of the Rashtriya Janata Dal's national executive meeting in Patna, party patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya has fired a barb at her brother and the party's face, Tejashwi Yadav.

Acharya, whose conflict with Tejashwi Yadav after the Bihar polls made headlines, has said those in the leadership must introspect, instead of evading questions and misbehaving with people speaking in the party's interest.

"Whoever is a true Laluwadi, whoever has selflessly worked for the party that struggles for the oppressed, whoever wants to take Lalu Yadav's political legacy and ideology forward, will question those responsible for the party's current situation," she said in a post on X.

"The bitter and worrisome reality is that the party known to fight for the people's rights is now controlled by infiltrators and conspirators sent by Fascist opponents. They have been sent with the task to overturn Lalu Yadav's ideologies. And they appear to have been successful to a large extent," she said.

This outburst follows the RJD’s disappointing performance in last year’s Bihar Assembly elections, an event that reportedly sparked a "bitter fallout" between the siblings. The tension isn't limited to Rohini; their elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, has also recently hinted at leadership failures regarding the electoral loss.
