Baloch Yakjehti: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee has raised serious allegations against the Pakistani state, claiming that a long-term and organized campaign is being carried out against the Baloch population. According to the committee, these actions amount to severe violations of basic human rights and threaten the very survival of the Baloch people. The group has appealed to the international community, global human rights organizations, and independent observers to take immediate notice of the situation unfolding in Balochistan.

Allegations of Genocide and International Law

In a recently released pamphlet, the committee emphasized that the right to life is a universal principle protected under international law. It argued that denying this right to an entire community on the basis of ethnicity, language, or identity meets the criteria of genocide as defined by global legal standards. The committee stated that genocide should not be seen only as isolated violent events but as a systematic policy designed to eliminate a group either completely or in part, in line with definitions provided by the United Nations.

Forms of Violence and Social Targeting

The document outlined what it described as multiple forms of violence faced by the Baloch people. These include allegations of mass killings, severe physical and psychological abuse, enforced disappearances, and custodial torture. The committee further claimed that educated groups such as students, teachers, intellectuals, activists, and women are being deliberately targeted, which it described as a form of partial genocide aimed at weakening the social and cultural foundations of Baloch society.

Armed Conflict and Legal Responsibility

Addressing the ongoing conflict in the region, the committee argued that the presence of armed resistance does not provide any legal or moral justification for collective punishment. It claimed that reports of bodies being found after abductions, the discovery of mass graves, and daily incidents of violence indicate a broader pattern rather than random acts. According to the group, these actions reflect a failure to uphold both domestic legal obligations and international humanitarian standards.

Economic Pressure and Daily Hardships

Beyond physical violence, the committee accused authorities of using economic measures as tools of repression. It alleged that frequent raids on homes, harassment at security checkpoints, restrictions on employment opportunities, limitations on cross-border trade, land confiscation, and forced displacement have significantly increased poverty levels. These practices, the group said, have also contributed to food insecurity and long-term economic instability across the province.

Environmental and Health Concerns

The pamphlet also highlighted serious environmental and public health concerns. The committee alleged that uranium-related activities in the Koh-e-Sulaiman region, nuclear operations in Khuzdar, and historical nuclear tests in Chagai and Kharan have resulted in increased cases of cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It further claimed that inadequate healthcare infrastructure has led to thousands of preventable deaths each year, describing this situation as a silent and slow form of extermination.

Call for Cultural Survival and Global Awareness

Describing its mission as one of survival, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee urged the Baloch people to protect their cultural identity, language, and social traditions. It called on communities to document alleged abuses, share verified information with global audiences, and remain cautious in their interactions with state security institutions. The group concluded by appealing for international solidarity, independent investigations, and sustained attention to ensure accountability and protection for the Baloch population.
