Call the Midwife's Cyril Robinson is currently at the centre of a heartbreaking plot involving bigoted backlash over his new relationship with Nurse Rosalind Clifford.
Season 15 of the period drama is currently airing on BBC One, and the pair's relationship continues to blossom after Cyril (Zephryn Taitte) and Lucille's (Leonie Elliott ) divorce following her abrupt exit.
The much-loved midwife departed during the 12th series for several reasons, including struggles with depression and longing to be home in Jamaica amid the growing anti-immigrant atmosphere in Britain during that period.

In the most recent Call the Midwife episode, social worker Cyril was introduced to Rosalind's parents, Major Clifford (David Bark-Jones) and Josephine (Natasha Joseph), for the first time, as they joined the couple for dinner. However, it was clear that racial difference was a problem for their guests, as Rosalind defended her man. The meeting later spurred Cyril and Rosalind to publicly declare their love.
Actor Zephryn Taitte has played Cyril in the BBC period drama since 2019. He was introduced as a kind mechanic and pastor who begins a romance with Lucille, becoming a recurring character who eventually marries her in the 2021 Christmas Special.
He later transitions into a vital role as a social worker/child welfare officer, becoming deeply involved in helping the vulnerable in Poplar alongside the ladies of Nonnatus House.
In series 14, Cyril left viewers heartbroken following the surprise death of beloved cat Nigel.
