Over the last two days, Dalhousie has been blanketed in snow, attracting numerous visitors eager to experience the winter wonderland. This snowfall not only enhances the picturesque landscape of Dalhousie but also provides a welcome change from the previously dry weather. However, it has also led to some challenges, including issues with electricity, water supply, and traffic management.

Efforts to Clear Snow and Manage Traffic

In response to the difficulties faced by both tourists and locals, the Dalhousie Municipal Council, led by Junior Engineer Sanjeev Sharma, has been proactive in clearing snow from municipal roads. JCB machines have been deployed since the day before yesterday to facilitate safe movement and allow everyone to enjoy the snowy environment.

Traffic Regulation Measures in Place

Dalhousie Police, under the guidance of DSP Mayank Sharma, have been working tirelessly for the past two days to manage traffic flow. With the surge in tourist numbers, traffic jams have been reported in various locations, prompting police efforts to maintain smooth transit.

Safety Advisory for Tourists

SDM Dalhousie, Anil Bhardwaj, has urged tourists to steer clear of high-altitude and slippery areas, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the guidelines set by local authorities. He encouraged visitors to enjoy the snowfall while prioritizing their safety.

Preparedness of Local Departments

Additionally, the Public Works Department, Electricity Department, and Water Supply Department in Dalhousie are fully prepared to ensure that both residents and tourists do not encounter issues related to road access, electricity, or water supply.
