Ranchi: The Government of India announced the Padma Award on Sunday. This year 131 personalities of the country will be honored. 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri awards have been announced for the year 2026. It has been announced to give Padma Bhushan honor to former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and producer of Jharkhand Dishome Guru Shibu Soren. Shibu Soren will be given this honor posthumously. Shibu Soren died in August 2025.

Actor Dharmendra has received the Padma Vibhushan award posthumously. This award is given to those who have made outstanding contributions in various fields like art, social service, industry, science, medicine, sports etc. These awards are announced every year on Republic Day. These honors are given in a special ceremony organized at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
