Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath discussed in detail the budget proposals for the upcoming financial year 2026-27 in an important meeting on Saturday. The Chief Minister said that due to the concrete progress that Uttar Pradesh has made in the direction of development, security and prosperity in the last nine years, the people of the state have great expectations from the government and living up to the public expectations is the top priority of the government. b

The Chief Minister directed that public welfare should be the center of the upcoming budget. He said that the soul of the budget should be to bring positive changes in the lives of the poor, farmers, labourers, women, youth and deprived sections of the society.

In the meeting, the budget proposals of the departments under the Chief Minister and the departments of the Minister of State (Independent Charge), new demands and the proposals put forward by the State Government in the context of the Union Budget 2026-27 were also discussed in detail. Before this, the Chief Minister also took the updated information regarding the financial approval and expenditure relative to the budget in the current financial year from the departmental principal secretaries in turn.

The Chief Minister said that the general budget of the Central Government is going to come on 1st February. Look at the provisions to Uttar Pradesh in it and make necessary improvements in your departmental budget proposal accordingly.

It was told in the meeting that in the proposals for 2026-27, special attention is being given to continuity of public welfare schemes, expansion of social security and further strengthening of basic facilities. Provisions to food security, housing, health, education and essential services have been viewed with a view to ensure that their benefits reach the last person effectively.

The Chief Minister said that strong law and order in the state is the basis of development and investment. He directed that the proposals of the departments to police, justice and administration should be aimed at public safety, speedy justice and further strengthening the confidence of the common citizen.

It was also informed in the meeting that the proposals to roads, buildings and other infrastructural development are aimed at increasing the connectivity, industrial activities and employment opportunities of the state, so that the benefits of development reach urban and rural areas equally.

Emphasizing on financial management, the Chief Minister said that public welfare and financial discipline complement each other. He directed that the resources should be used in such a way that the quality of the schemes increases, timely implementation is ensured and the real results are visible to the public.

It was told in the meeting that the proposals to revenue strengthening, administrative reforms and expenditure efficiency have been incorporated in such a way that the financial prosperity and stability of the state is maintained and continuity in development works is ensured.

The Chief Minister said that the upcoming budget should further strengthen the same confidence with which Uttar Pradesh has moved forward in the last nine years and created a new identity for itself in the country. He directed the officials to finalize the proposals while keeping public aspirations, regional needs and long-term development balanced.

The Chief Minister said that the budget for the upcoming financial year will prove to be a strong step towards fulfilling the dreams and expectations of the people of the state through public welfare, good governance and financial prosperity.

Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) JPS Rathore and Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh had special presence in the meeting.
