This Oscar season was great for Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’ as the film managed to land 13 nominations. While Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, and other actors got nominated, debut star Chase Infiniti missed out on the nominations. In a recent interview, DiCaprio, who played Infiniti’s on-screen father, shared his thoughts on the matter.
Leonardo DiCaprio talks about Chase Infiniti not getting an Oscar nominationWhile talking to Associated Press recently, the star expressed what he felt about Chase Infiniti not getting an Oscar nomination for the 2026 awards show that are set to air in March. He shared that he was disappointed that Infiniti did not score it, and that she was “the fabric of this movie. She was the heart and soul. There would be no One Battle After Another without the performance that she gave.”
He further praised her role and shared that for her debut project, the 25-year-old did an amazing job, and was a wonderful person to work with. He added, “A young actress coming in to fill a role that was her first film and carrying the entire emotional weight of this movie was a near-impossible task. She should be so proud of herself, and we’re all so proud of her.”
About ‘One Battle After Another’The film follows a former revolutionary who has been underground with his daughter for 16 years. Now, a drunkard and smoker, he has to face the harsh reality when his daughter goes missing, and the past comes back to haunt him. With all odds against him in every way, he has to go across the country to get his daughter back, no matter the cost.
‘One Battle After Another’ is Paul Thomas Anderson and Leonardo DiCaprio’s first film together. The film has been doing well this award season and has been head-to-head with Ryan Coogler’s ‘Sinners’ in terms of awards and nominations. For the Oscars, ‘The Great Gatsby’ actor has been nominated for Best Actor. He will be competing against Timothee Chalamet, Ethan Hawke, Michael B. Jordan, and Wagner Moura.
