Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures compared to Man City after dramatic Man Utd defeat
Football | January 26, 2026 6:39 AM CST

Arsenal have suffered a major blow in the Premier League title race after losing 3-2 to Manchester United. A Lisandro Martinez own goal had put Arsenal in front, but Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu turned the game on its head before Mikel Merino equalised from a scrappy corner, only for Matheus Cunha to fire in the winner.

Mikel Arteta's side went in front just before the half-hour mark with Martin Odegaard's mishit ball towards goal inadvertently turned into his own net by Martinez. However, their lead lasted just eight minutes asBryan Mbeumo capitalised on a huge Martin Zubimendi to equalise.

Dorgu then scored a sensational strike to put United in front after some excellent combination play with Bruno Fernandes. Arsenal fought back though with a Bukayo Saka corner causing chaos and the ball was eventually put over the line by Merino.

United had the final say on proceedings however, with second-half substitute Cunha launching an effort beyond David Raya. It is now three league games without a victory for Arsenal and the chasing pack are closing in as a result.

With that being said, football.london takes a look at the upcoming fixtures for the Gunners, Manchester City and Aston Villa as just four points separate the three rivals.

Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures

Leeds United (A) - Jan 31

Sunderland (H) - Feb 7

Brentford (A) - Feb 12

Tottenham (A) - Feb 22

Chelsea (H) - March 1

Verdict: Arsenal face two newly-promoted teams up next in the Premier League after their huge setback, but those matches will be far from straightforward.

A trip to Elland Road against a resurgent Leeds United arrives first before Sunderland are the visitors to Emirates Stadium the following weekend. A return to north London for former player Granit Xhaka is in doubt because of injury with the Blacks Cats also far worse without him.

Arsenal then face Brentford and Tottenham in back-to-back away games before hosting Chelsea as their first fixture in March with the title race run-in really starting.

Manchester City's next five Premier League fixtures

Tottenham (A) - Feb 1

Liverpool (A) - Feb 8

Fulham (H) - Feb 11

Newcastle (H) - Feb 21

Leeds United (A) - Feb 28

Verdict: After getting back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Wolves, Man City will be hoping to go on a run but that could be a challenge given their upcoming fixtures with trips to Tottenham and Liverpool kicking off February.

City then have consecutive matches at Etihad Stadium with Fulham and Newcastle United as the visitors before closing out another busy month against Leeds United at Elland Road. Pep Guardiola's side will have to be at their very best to keep on winning over this challenging period.

Aston Villa's next five Premier League fixtures

Brentford (H) - Feb 1

Bournemouth (A) - Feb 7

Brighton (H) - Feb 11

Leeds United (H) - Feb 21

Wolves (A) - Feb 27

Verdict: A huge win away at Newcastle and Arsenal dropping points has kept Aston Villa in the title race. A league clash against Brentford at Villa Park follows next for them with a trip to Bournemouth the following week.

Brighton and Leeds United make the trip to the Midlands following that with a derby clash away to Wolves as their final match of February. It is a favourable run for Unai Emery's side and taking maximum points is certainly possible.
