The fourth season of The Traitors culminated in a shock finale last week, and we’re already mourning the absence of one of the nation’s best-loved reality shows from our weekly TV roundup. We’ve covered almost every outfit host Claudia Winkleman has worn on the show, but one thing that got less attention was her beauty looks.
Although Claudia is known for sticking to a signature makeup style – smudgy black-rimmed eyes, pale lips and orange-tinted foundation – her makeup artist Lucy Gibson still has plenty of fun getting Claudia glam for her on-screen appearances. She recently shared her roster of foundations that she uses on the host, and it includes a firm celebrity favourite; Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation.

It seems Claudia is in good company with the foundation choice, as everyone from Meghan Markle and Kim Kardashian to Sabrina Carpenter and Martha Stewart are known lovers of the glow-boosting base. It’s currently on sale at LookFantastic down from £47 to £39.95, so now’s a great time to get your hands on it.
The Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is a top choice thanks to its ultra-lightweight texture which has buildable medium coverage, whilst still giving a natural-looking skin-like finish. Lucy didn’t share the exact shade she used, telling The Telegraph that the shades: “vary depending on how recently Claud has had a spray tan, and I will mix the shades to match however tanned we are on a given day.”
One LookFantastic shopper also praised the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation as the “Best Foundation for 30+” and added: “This is my new go to foundation. I have always used MAC but since my skin is aging as I get older this has been my new fave. Really light, a small amount goes a long way & matches my skin tone perfectly & natural looking. Lasts all day also.”
A second agreed: “I love this foundation, it’s lightweight but with great coverage. As someone who struggles with acne scarring I find It surprisingly effective at concealing whilst giving me a glow.”
Some did find getting the right shade in the Luminous Silk Foundation a little tricky, writing: “Foundation seems ok, but the shade is completely wrong and I used the colour match feature. Obviously can’t return as I’ve opened it.”
And another said: “I would have given this 4 stars if it wasn’t for the oxidation! At first when I applied it, it matched my skin very well (it’s very rare I find a foundation that matches my medium neutral undertone with olive overtone). About 10 minutes after finishing my makeup, I looked like an oompa loompa. The finish is nice but I unfortunately cannot wear it again because of the oxidation.”
However another happy customer added: “Beautiful foundation, highly recommend. It’s good for those days where you want the minimal make up look. Also great for a more glam look. Weigh less and doesn’t feel cakey. I get lots of compliments on how nice my skin looks.”
Another foundation that Lucy keeps in her Claudia beauty bag is NARS’ Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation which has also recently been given a price cut down from £43.50 to £34.80. This errs more on the medium-to-full coverage end of the spectrum, but still gives the same lightweight, glowy finish that the Luminous Silk Foundation does.
Lucy also shared some of her other go-tos for getting Claudia’s skin looking so flawless. She uses the Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector (£29) to help conceal blemishes, imperfections and dark circles, and finishes off with NARS Soft Matte Powder (£33.50) to help eradicate shine and give her makeup some extra lasting power.
