Mumbai The release date of the much-awaited film Patriot starring actors Mammootty and Mohanlal has finally been decided. On Monday, the makers started the countdown for the release date of the film and announced an official date. Highlighting the spirit of the fearless voices, Mohanlal posted on X that Patriot is arriving in theaters worldwide on April 23, 2026. He also shared a new poster of the film, which shows a glimpse of the lead characters including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nayanthara and Fahadh Faasil.

This announcement came just a day after the first look of Nayanthara was revealed. In the Instagram poster, the actress is seen in side profile. She is wearing a saree and has a serious expression on her face, which shows that her character is multi-layered. The line ‘Protest is patriotism’ is also written on the poster, which shows that the film will talk about social and political topics. The film will raise questions about power, faith and resistance.

The teaser of Patriot was released on October 2 last year. It begins with a mysterious voiceover talking about leaders who control people through belief. The teaser again shows Mammootty’s character, who is on a secret mission. Mohanlal is seen as a soldier and Fahadh Faasil creates more tension in the story with his entry. The teaser reveals that the film will deal with strong conflicts and power struggles. Patriot is written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan, who is known for his work in Malayalam cinema. The film is produced by Anto Joseph and KG Anil Kumar under the banner of Anto Joseph Productions.
