In a shocking move, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor decided to "stay at Jeffrey Epstein's beach house" in Florida while his family celebrated Princess Eugenie's birthday in Disneyland, a royal author has claimed. Andrew Lownie, the author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, claimed the reason for Andrew's absence at his youngest daughter's birthday was to extend his stay at the beach house "rather than return" for Eugenie's birthday.

At the time, pictures were released of Sarah Ferguson with Princess Beatrice and Eugenie in front of the Disneyland Castle, but Andrew was not visible in the images released. The author writes of the friendship between Andrew and Epstein: "Fergie and a lot of other people who love Andrew believe that this friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein has become really dangerous."

According to Mr Lownie, the former Duchess felt "jealousy that she had lost her influence over Andrew".

Mr Lownie added that Fergie showed a "growing concern about the company her ex-husband was keeping and how it was impacting her own reputation - and money-making opportunities in America".

Princess Eugenie also had a Disney-themed party for her 25th birthday, and Andrew reportedly turned up in a Prince Charming costume, according to the Daily Mail.

Eugenie celebrated her milestone birthday at Andrew and Fergie's Windsor's Royal Lodge a birthday that saw her dress up as the famous Disney Princess, Snow White.

Last year, King Charles stripped his younger brother of his royal titles amid continued scrutiny into Andrew's friendship with the late paedophile financier and the former Duke and Duchess of York will be vacating Royal Lodge in February, reports state.

Andrew was stripped of all his royal titles in October 2025 after a leaked email published by the Mail on Sunday proved he lied in his 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, when he claimed he "never had any contact" with Epstein after they were pictured together in New York in December 2010.

Both Beatrice and Eugenie spent Christmas 2025 away from their parents as they joined King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales for the annual family gathering at Sandringham.

A source told the Mail: "Beatrice is trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the Royal Family."

Both Andrew and Sarah Ferguson continue to deny any wrongdoing regarding their friendships with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

The Express contacted Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor for comment.
