Lucknow, Read: The selected young players of the UP hockey team are practicing hard at the Chandra Bhan Gupt playground near the National College. His aim is to secure a place in the UP team and perform brilliantly in the 36th All India KD Singh Babu Under-14 Sub Junior Boys Prize Money Hockey Tournament. This tournament will be held from 2 to 11 February at Vijayant Khand Mini Stadium, Gomti Nagar, Mo. Will be held at Shahid Hockey Stadium.
Selection trials were conducted at the state level to form the UP team, in which talented players from Karampur, Jhansi, Vivek Academy Varanasi, Prayagraj, Meerut, Gonda, Lakhimpur, Barabanki, Sitapur and Lucknow participated. After trials conducted under the supervision of Olympians Syed Ali and Sujit Kumar, 25 players were selected for the special training camp.
The selected players are improving their technique, fitness and sports skills in an eight-day camp at Chandra Bhan Gupta Sports Ground. After the conclusion of the camp, the final announcement of the UP Hockey team will be made, which will represent Uttar Pradesh in the 36th All India KD Singh Babu Under-14 Junior Boys Prizemoney Hockey Tournament.
