A shock new storyline has kicked off for Sam Blakeman on Coronation Street - but how old is actor Jude Riordan?

Jude joined the ITV soap back in 2020 playing Sam Blakeman. He rocked up to the cobbles as the secret son of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and it didn’t take him long to become a firm favourite.

Sam has also been involved in several big moments on the soap, including the tragic death of his mum Natasha Blakeman(Rachel Leskovac), after thug Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) killed her.

And over on the cobbles recently, a new big storyline kicked off for Sam after he started to have suspicions about the nature of athletics coach Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) and Will Driscoll’s (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) relationship.

As fans will recall Megan is grooming Will and ispregnant with his baby. So far, their relationship gone unnoticed by his family and friends. However, Sam has started to suspect something is going on this week between Megan and Will.

In Monday’s episode (January 26) after seeing Will with a jacket that was left at Megan’s flat, Sam put two and two together and asked Will if he was having an inappropriate relationship with Megan.

Will straight away lied and shut down Sam, but it was clear that Sam didn’t believe him. What’s more, later on things took a sinister turn when Megan cornered Sam and made a veiled threat to secure his silence.

Away from the soap, it’s fair to say fans have been left stunned recently over how grown-up Sam actor Jude looks, with many wondering how old the actor is now.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: “Sam looks different is it the same boy.” Someone else added: “Sam has grown up,” as a third chimed in: “Sam has aged a couple of years now.” Jude is currently 14 years old and will be turning 15 in May this year.

Away from Coronation Street, Jude has starred in the likes Channel 4's documentary The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds back in 2017 and played Little Phil in Katy. He also appeared in Sky One’s, Brassic playing Tyler Croft - and his on-screen mum was portrayed by former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan.
