British travel magazine Time Out lists several places in Asia among the world’s top spa destinations for 2026, with Vietnam seeing growing interest from travelers.

The ranking draws on SpaSeekers.com data from more than 40 million Google searches in 2025 for trips to hot springs, saunas and wellness retreats.

China leads Asia with cities such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Guangzhou ranking among the world’s top destinations in 2026.

Growth is driven by spas designed for all-day and overnight stays.

Vietnam is also seeing rising interest in wellness travel. The country recorded a 22% rise in spa- searches. Visitors are combining city stays with retreats in coastal and mountainous areas.

In other Asian markets, the focus varies.

Laos and the Philippines rank among the global top 10 for eco-resorts. In India, cities such as Bengaluru and Jaipur blend modern facilities with traditional practices, while Bhutan and Nepal attract travelers seeking digital detox and spiritual retreats.

The report shows that spa travel is no longer an added luxury, but a primary reason for travel.

With competitive costs and diverse experiences, Asia is an attractive place for wellness tourism.

Founded in 1968, Time Out is a travel and culture magazine with editions in more than 300 cities. Its rankings are based on traveler surveys, expert opinions, and travel trends.
