Public Grievances Taken Up at Gorakhpur Interaction

During the Janta Darshan, people from various districts shared problems ranging from local civic matters to personal appeals. The Chief Minister examined several cases on the spot and directed senior officials to treat the grievances with priority. He reiterated that public outreach programmes play a crucial role in understanding ground-level challenges and ensuring that government schemes reach their intended beneficiaries without delay.

Artists Felicitated During Republic Day Programme

A day earlier, Yogi Adityanath attended an artist felicitation ceremony organised as part of Republic Day 2026 celebrations. The event brought together performers from different parts of the country who had participated in the Republic Day parade. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister expressed appreciation for the artists’ contribution to showcasing India’s cultural diversity.

Welcome Extended to Artists From Other States

Special mention was made of artists who had travelled from Tripura and other states to take part in the celebrations in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister described their participation as a symbol of national unity and cultural exchange. He conveyed his gratitude to the performers for representing their regional traditions on a national platform and welcomed them warmly to the state.

Tribute to the Tricolour and Constitutional Values

As part of the Republic Day observances, Yogi Adityanath earlier unfurled the National Flag at his official residence in Lucknow and paid tribute to the Tricolour. On the occasion, he spoke about the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and underlined the role of the Constitution in shaping modern India. He noted that constitutional values continue to guide the country’s democratic institutions and development path.

ODOP Scheme Highlighted at Statehood Day Event

On January 24, during the Uttar Pradesh Statehood Day समारोह attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Chief Minister highlighted the impact of the One District, One Product initiative. He described the programme as an important driver of economic self-reliance in the state and linked it to the broader national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. According to him, ODOP has strengthened traditional industries while creating new employment opportunities at the local level.

Boost to Traditional Industries and Local Crafts

The One District, One Product programme focuses on promoting unique products and crafts associated with each district of Uttar Pradesh. The initiative supports indigenous skills and locally sourced materials, helping artisans and small producers gain wider recognition. Products such as Kala namak rice, known for its nutritional value, along with chikankari and zari-zardozi embroidery, have gained renewed attention under the scheme.

Revival of Heritage Products Through Modern Support

Several crafts promoted through ODOP were once facing decline due to limited demand and lack of exposure. With structured marketing, training, and financial assistance, many of these traditions are seeing a revival. Items such as wheat-stalk craft and horn and bone work, which use animal remains instead of live sources, are being positioned as sustainable alternatives to ivory-based products. A number of these goods have also received Geographical Indication status, certifying their origin and authenticity.

Through public engagement, cultural outreach, and targeted economic programmes, the Uttar Pradesh government continues to link governance with heritage preservation and local development, aiming to balance administrative efficiency with cultural and economic sustainability.
