Hyderabad: BRS leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Santosh Kumar Rao appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the phone tapping case at Jubilee Hills Police Station.
The SIT has already interrogated former ministers Harish Rao and KTR in the same case and recorded their statements. Santosh, who is the nephew of former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, appeared before the SIT, after he was summoned on Monday, January 26.
What is the phone-tapping case?
The case is related to allegations of widespread illegal phone-tapping and surveillance involving politicians, businessmen, celebrities, judiciary and other eminent personalities.
The six accused in the case include ex-SIB chief T Prabhakar Rao, former DSP D Praneeth Rao, N Bhujanga Rao, M Thirupathanna, Radha Kishan Rao and Shravan Kumar Rao. Earlier in the month, T Prabhakar Rao was questioned in relation to the case.
The FIR was lodged in March 2024 for reportedly destroying gadgets, erasing intelligence information and tapping phones during the BRS tenure.
