Ukraine’s security guarantee document almost ready

New Delhi. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has informed that Ukraine is now waiting for its partners to set a date for signing the document to US security guarantees. This document will be sent to the US Congress and the Ukrainian Parliament for confirmation.

Amid the conflict between Russia and Ukraine that has been going on for the last four years, the possibility of an agreement has recently become stronger once again. Zelensky said that after two days of talks, this important document for his country is now ‘100 percent ready’. Representatives of Ukraine, America and Russia participated in these talks.

Speaking to reporters in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, Zelensky said he was now waiting for the date of signature by his colleagues. After this the document will be sent for further processing.

EU membership plan

Zelensky reiterated Ukraine’s goal of achieving EU membership by 2027, calling it a “guarantee of economic security.” He described the trilateral talks held in Abu Dhabi, which also included the participation of military representatives, as the most ambitious in recent years.

Negotiators from Ukraine and Russia held the first trilateral meeting with US mediators in Abu Dhabi, in which no concrete agreement was reached. However, both sides look forward to further talks and are expected to meet again next Sunday. Zelensky reported that the 20-point US plan and other controversial issues were discussed.
