The European Union is also unhappy with the work of social media X handle artificial intelligence ‘Grok’. They have started an investigation against Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok for allegedly creating deepfake images.
Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission, said: “We will not tolerate such unthinkable behavior as the digital dispossession of children and women.” European IT Commissioner Hena Virkkunen said the investigation under the Digital Services Act (DSA) is ongoing.
A few days ago, more than 100,000,000 indecent, revealing pictures of children and women made with grok were circulated on social media. There was a storm of criticism about it. Due to which Musk was forced to close that feature of Grok under pressure. But even that did not end the controversy. In this situation, this time the investigation against Grok started in Europe.
Incidentally, the Government of India had also served notice on Groke for the same reason. The Center expressed deep concern over the way obscene, offensive and sexually suggestive images and videos are being created using AI services. According to them, by spreading these contents on social media, women are actually defamed. This trend also makes sexual harassment ‘normal’. The X handle of the mask gave way after that under pressure. The Modi government began blocking content it deemed obscene and objectionable.
