Eye Care Exercises: In today’s digital age, mobiles, laptops and TVs have become an essential part of our lifestyle. But do you know that blue light from the screen for hours is making your eyes age prematurely. Burning, heaviness and blurred vision in the eyes is now taking the form of an epidemic. According to Ayurveda, the root cause of these problems is the imbalance of Pitta dosha which can be corrected by correct eye exercises.

Ayurveda believes that just as gym is needed to keep the body fit, similarly the eye muscles also need exercise. With proper exercise, blood circulation in the eyes increases and oxygen is supplied properly.

This is the simplest solution. Blink rapidly 20 times and then close your eyes for 10 seconds. It eliminates dryness of the eyes and gives them natural moisture.

Up-down and side movements

Without moving the head, move the pupils of the eyes up-down and left-right. It is helpful in increasing focus power and reducing stiffness.

Rotate the eyes first clockwise and then anti-clockwise 5-5 times. This relieves eye fatigue immediately.

In Ayurveda, Tratak is considered most powerful for the eyes. Stare at the flame of a lamp or candle for 30 to 60 seconds without blinking. It not only increases concentration but also sharpens vision. Along with this, washing the eyes with Triphala water and using rose water provides internal coolness to the eyes.

Change in lifestyle is necessary

Just exercise is not enough but follow the 20-20-20 rule. After every 20 minutes of screen time, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
