Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren returned to Jharkhand on Tuesday after a 10-day foreign trip. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha workers welcomed the Chief Minister with full warmth at Ranchi Airport. JMM workers who arrived with JMM flag looked very excited about the success of Hemant Soren’s foreign tour.
On Republic Day, Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren reached Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s house in London and garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Parliament Square.
During the 10-day foreign trip, the Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife and a delegation of several officials including Gandey MLA Kalpana Soren, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar to Davos and London. The Chief Minister attended the World Economic Forum meeting held in Davos and subsequently attended important events to investment, industry, education and research in the United Kingdom.

Jharkhand’s identity in Davos
CM Hemant Soren introduced Jharkhand as an emerging industrial state for investment in Davos. He met global industrialists, investors and experts and raised the possibility of investment proposals worth about Rs 11 thousand crore in the state.
Important meetings in UK
In London and Oxford, the CM participated in important meetings to investment, industry, education and research. He visited the research centers of Imperial College London and discussed value added industries including critical minerals. Furthermore, Marang Gomke at St. John’s College, Oxford University observed historical records to Jaipal Singh Munda.
New direction for Jharkhand
This visit will help Jharkhand move beyond its identity as a mining-based state and establish itself as a hub of industrial, IT and green technology. Preparations are also being made to form a special task force for the implementation of investment proposals.

CM Hemant Soren, MLA Kalpana Soren and the team of officials accompanying them will discuss the further action plan after returning to Ranchi on January 27. CM left for Davos via Delhi on 17 January and reached UK on the night of 22 January. There he participated in his programs till 26th January and was scheduled to return to Ranchi on 27th January.
Apart from this, a separate team of officials led by Minister of Urban Development and Housing and Tourism, Art, Culture and Sports Sudivya Kumar Sonu also left for the UK. The team also participated in meetings, discussions and seminars on different topics. The government has presented Jharkhand as an investment friendly state on the global platform, so that new investment and employment opportunities increase in the state in the coming times.
