Alison Hammond’s dramatic weight loss may have been aided, in part, by one significant change at home, it has been claimed. The TV presenter, best known for her roles on ITV's This Morning and The Great British Bake Off, has made headlinesin recent years after shedding more than 10 stone.
At her heaviest, Alison weighed 30 stone before deciding to pursue a healthier lifestyle following a pre-diabetic health warning. She has previously explained that her transformation did not involve strict dieting, instead focusing on moderation and sustainable habits.
In a video on Instagram, Alison thanked personal trainer Ellis Gatfield, crediting him with kick-starting her entire fitness quest. She said he had made her life “so much easier” through “simple changes and kindness”.

Now, a fitness expert has shared insight into what may have contributed to Alison’s success. According to Woman’s Own, Alison reportedly “keeps weights in her bedroom” to ensure her workouts remain accessible and varied, helping to prevent boredom.
Fitness consultant Laurel Alper weighed in on the star's transformation, telling the publication: “Resistance training, plus using weights in her own bedroom, when she had time, will have all contributed to her dropping the pounds.
“It looks like she walked as much as possible and continued burning calories by stretching and doing yoga. She’s clearly very busy, so having her own weights at home is a great idea.
“She has drastically cut back on her food intake, saying she eats whatever she chooses but has adjusted her portion control. All these things combined have enabled her to create a calorie deficit and lose weight.”
Laurel added that Alison appeared to have approached her weight loss safely, rather than losing a large amount in a short space of time, suggesting this steady method has likely helped her reach a point where she can “maintain” her progress.
Despite her achievements, Alison has previously spoken out about facing “persistent questions” over whether she has used weight loss injections.
Speaking to The Mail’s Richard Eden at the Women of the Year awards last year, she said: “It worries me that the jab keeps getting brought up. Every single time I have a conversation in public, that is the question thrown at me.”
She confirmed she had been asked whether she used weight loss injections and responded with an “absolutely not”. However, Alison has not ruled out the possibility entirely in the future.
She said: “I don’t like the fact that you have to say: ‘Oh, no, I wouldn’t have the jab ever’. Maybe next year. Do you know what? I might start jabbing up. What does it matter how people lose weight?”
She concluded by asking: “Would you rather me die from being obese?”
