According to the Hindu calendar, Phalguna is the twelfth and last month of the year. This month is named after ‘Phalguni’ constellation, because the moon is in this constellation on the full moon day. The arrival of Phalguna signals the farewell of cold season and the beginning of spring. From spiritual point of view, this month is considered best for worshiping Lord Shiva, Shri Krishna and Moon God.

In this month, nature is at its peak beauty and the human mind is filled with joy. Be it the union of Shiva and Shakti on the holy festival of Mahashivratri or ‘Holi’ symbolizing the victory of good over evil on Phalguni Purnima, this entire month offers a long series of fasts, rituals and festivals.
