The Delhi government has taken a major decision to connect students with digital education. The government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, recently approved the Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme. Under this scheme, meritorious students will be given free laptops so that they can better prepare for higher education and competitive examinations. Let's tell you how female students in Delhi can get free laptops and how to apply for this scheme.

What is the Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme?

The Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme aims to encourage meritorious students who perform well in Class 10. Under this scheme, 1200 students will be given free laptops with an i7 configuration every academic session. Each laptop will cost more than ₹60,000. The Delhi government has allocated a budget of ₹7.5 crore for this. However, certain conditions have been set to avail the benefits of this scheme. To benefit from the scheme, students must be residents of Delhi. They must also have passed Class 10 from the CBSE board, and their name must be in the top 1200 in the Class 10 merit list. They must have studied in a regular school, and admission to Class 11 is mandatory. Only students who fulfil these conditions will be eligible for this scheme.

How will female students benefit?

There is no discrimination between male and female students in this scheme. Female students who are in the top 1200 of the merit list and fulfill the eligibility criteria will also be given free laptops. The government says that this will promote digital learning and self-reliance among female students. There is no need to apply separately to avail the benefits of this scheme. A list of the top 1200 students will be prepared based on the results of the CBSE Class 10 board examination. The selected students will be distributed laptops through a program. Documents can be submitted through the school if needed.

Documents required for the Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme:

Delhi Aadhaar Card
10th-grade mark sheet
Proof of admission to 11th grade
School ID card

What does the government say about the scheme?

The Delhi government believes that access to digital resources will enable students to study online, access digital notes, and prepare for competitive exams more effectively. This scheme will not only help meritorious students excel but will also strengthen the digital education infrastructure in Delhi.
