New Delhi: Aadhar card is an important part of every Indian’s life today. Many tasks like bank account, SIM card, government schemes or paying taxes become difficult without Aadhaar. But to update or verify information in Aadhaar, one often has to go to the Aadhaar center.
Now UIDAI has given a big solution to this problem. Today, on January 28, 2026, the full version of the new Aadhaar app is being launched, which will make many tasks easier at home.
These special features will be available in the new app
Many new features are being added to the full version, which will increase the privacy and convenience of the users.
Selective Share: Now you do not need to share your entire Aadhaar. Only necessary information (like name or photo) can be shared. This will reduce the risk of sharing photocopies and privacy will be protected.
Biometrics Lock: Biometric (fingerprint or iris) lock-unlock can be done in one tap. This will prevent unauthorized use and strengthen security.
Family Profile: You can manage Aadhaar profiles of up to 5 family members in a single phone. The head of the household will be able to easily handle everyone’s information.
Offline Verification: You can verify identity through QR code or face verification even without internet. Instant verification will be possible for tenants, hotel check-in, event entry or society.
Mobile Number Update: With face authentication, you can change the registered mobile number sitting at home. Now there will be no need to go to the centre.
How to download the app?
The new Aadhaar app can be easily downloaded from Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). The user interface is very simple, even a first time user will not face any problem. UIDAI has made it secure and user-friendly.
This full version launch is a big relief for Aadhaar users. Now there will be less visits to physical Aadhaar card or centre. Privacy, security and convenience will increase. This effort of UIDAI will further strengthen Digital India.
