The management of a city resort has filed a complaint with the cyber police regarding a scam involving their hacked Google Business account.
Tourists typically booked the Ullal beach resort via email and official mobile numbers. On November 10, 2025, unknown individuals hacked and took control of the official Google Business access. Despite several attempts by the management to regain control, they were unsuccessful.
On January 11, a fake account was discovered using the resort's name along with a fraudulent mobile number and address. Scammers used these details to deceive innocent tourists looking to book rooms. The issue came to light when tourists contacted the resort directly. Management has since posted a warning on their official website and sought police assistance.
