Assam Government Approves Job Registration for Moran Community in Arunachal Pradesh

The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, announced that the state cabinet has approved the registration of members of the Moran community residing in Arunachal Pradesh at the employment office in Tinsukia district.


During a press conference following the cabinet meeting, Sarma emphasized that this initiative will significantly increase job opportunities for the community.


He explained, 'The state cabinet has granted permission for the registration of individuals from the Moran community living in Arunachal Pradesh, who possess valid Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC) and OBC (Other Backward Classes) certificates issued by the Assam government. They can be registered at the employment offices in Tinsukia district.'


Sarma further noted that this registration will facilitate their participation in government recruitment and employment initiatives, thereby improving their access to formal job opportunities in Assam.


Additionally, the Assam cabinet has approved the reservation of one position under OBC for the next five competitive examinations to enhance the socio-economic status of the Chutia community. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the cabinet has greenlit a loan of ₹200.36 crores from NABARD for 27 projects.
