Pune: A serious incident unfolded on Thursday when a plane carrying Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and leader of the NCP, crashed during its landing approach in Baramati. Reports indicate that he sustained significant injuries in the accident.
The aircraft reportedly caught fire upon landing and was completely destroyed. Ajit Pawar was aboard this private plane, accompanied by six other individuals.
Rescue teams have confirmed the recovery of at least one deceased person from the wreckage. While several passengers have been reported injured, there is still no official update on Ajit Pawar's health status.
At the time of the crash, Pawar was en route to Baramati for election campaign activities. Emergency services and security personnel quickly arrived at the scene to evaluate the situation.
Authorities are continuing their rescue operations and investigations, with more information expected to be released soon.
