WhatsApp has rolled out a Strict Account Setting feature, keeping user privacy in mind. This will keep private data completely secure and help prevent cyberattacks.
WhatsApp has rolled out a new security feature considering the increasing online fraud and data leaks worldwide. This feature is called Strict Account Setting. When activated, it will maintain user privacy and prevent anyone from accessing their private data. The company believes that this feature will make the platform better and more secure. Users will also get an additional layer of security.
What is WhatsApp's Strict Account Setting?
According to WhatsApp, Strict Account Settings is an advanced security feature that you can control yourself. Its advantage is that it limits interactions with your WhatsApp account. When it's on, it blocks unknown messages and calls, and no one can add you to a group without your permission. It also prevents risky media files from reaching the user. Currently, this feature has been rolled out to select users. It is expected to be released to everyone in the coming days.
How to turn on the new setting?
Step 1. Open WhatsApp on your primary device.
Step 2. Go to the app's settings.
Step 3. Now go to the Privacy section. Scroll down.
Step 4. Here you will find the Advanced option, tap on it.
Step 5. You will find the Strict Account Settings section, tap on it.
Step 6. Turn on the feature by pressing the toggle switch.
How to turn off the feature?
1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone and go to Settings.
2. Click on the Privacy option and go to the Advanced section.
3. Tap on Strict Account Settings and turn off the toggle switch.
4. This will turn off the feature.
Note: WhatsApp's new feature is for mobile users. This function is not supported in WhatsApp Web and the desktop app.
Work in progress on this function? It's worth noting that WhatsApp is working on several features in addition to releasing new ones. One of these is a parental control feature. This feature will allow parents to monitor their children's activity and set limitations. This will ensure that children can only chat with people approved by their parents.
