If you're short on outdoor space but still need somewhere to stash gardening tools, plant pots or bits and pieces, a slimline shed could be the answer. This narrow wooden shed from Christow has been designed specifically for patios, balconies and smaller gardens, and it's currently priced at under £170.
Unlike traditional sheds that can dominate a garden, this one is compact and upright, making it easier to slot into a corner or against a fence without taking up too much room. It's made from fir wood and comes in a choice of colours at the same price, including a sage green, duck egg blue, and natural, meaning you could paint it any shade you fancy.
In terms of size, the shed measures 178.5cm high, with a roof width of 78cm and a base width of 65cm. The depth is equally modest, with a 46cm base, which means it's best suited to storing smaller items like hand tools, watering cans, seed trays and garden accessories rather than bulky equipment.
Inside, there's three small shevles and enough space to a few items upright, and the single door makes access straightforward. The door is fitted with a galvanised metal barrel-bolt lock, which can be secured with a padlock (not included). This helps keep items safe and also stops the door swinging open in windy weather. There's also a sweet shelf in the roof hatch with a door where you could keep paint brushes, seeds, or secret treasure.
The wood has been treated to help manage humidity and reduce wear over time, though Christow recommends applying a waterproof paint or preservative after around a year to protect against damp, rot and insects. This is fairly standard for wooden outdoor storage and helps extend its lifespan.
Shoppers who've already bought the shed say it's straightforward to put together and particularly useful where space is tight. One customer shared, "Easy to assemble, looks good and is decent quality. It doesn't take up too much space in our small garden and provides good storage for a few garden tools." Another person wrote, "Very sturdy and well made unit."
However, a few people had some concerns. One user penned, "It's lightweight which we knew before purchase and if erected in an exposed position will likely need added support against wind." Another person agreed, adding, "Love the style and colour but not as sturdy and fully weather proof as I'd like."
