Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island recorded a 49% year-on-year increase in accommodation searches from international tourists in 2025, reinforcing its growing appeal as a global travel destination, according to travel platform Agoda.

Agoda’s findings aligned with Phu Quoc’s strong tourism performance last year as the island welcomed 8.1 million visitors, exceeding its initial target of 7.25 million.

Of the total, 1.8 million were international arrivals. Tourism revenue reached VND44 trillion (US$1.67 billion) in 2025.

Authorities expect visitor numbers to rise further to 8.5 million this year, including two million foreign tourists.

Phu Quoc International Airport handled a record 47 international flights on Jan. 17, the highest daily total to date, amid a surge in tourist arrivals, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Beyond Phu Quoc, Agoda reported strong growth in accommodation searches for other Vietnamese destinations.

Da Nang saw a 25% year-on-year increase, followed by Ho Chi Minh City at 26% and Hanoi at 23%.
