Yuvraj discussed the emotional distress cricket caused him during his appearance on Sania Mirza’s YouTube show ‘Serving it Up with Sania’. He shared that he quit the sport because excessive pressure ruined his enjoyment of the game.

 

Yuvraj said:

 

"My career reached a point where it became impossible to bear. My enjoyment of baseball disappeared because I could not play. This situation existed at an extremely delicate state. I thought to myself why am I playing cricket when I don't enjoy it? The system failed to support me. The system failed to support me. How am I supposed to achieve this when I lack therequired resources?

 

He added:

 

"I gave my best to the game which has treated me well. I stopped doing something that I didn't find enjoyable. I need to prove something through playing. My mental and physical capabilities reached their maximum limits. The situation caused me pain so I made the decision to stop. When I chose to stop working I returned to my true self.

 

Final Years and Fading Opportunities

 

Yuvraj Singh played one T20I match for India in 2014 and 2017 while he scored three international half-centuries which included one fifty and one hundred in ODIs. His playing chances decreased because younger players entered the field while competition intensified.

 

Yuvraj found peace after he stopped playing the game which brought him closure to his career that established the Indian cricket era.
