Jaya Ekadashi Auspicious time: Shukla Paksha of Magh month Jaya Ekadashi It has special spiritual significance in Hindu religion. This Ekadashi is being celebrated today i.e. on 29th January with devotion and rituals. According to the Panchang, Ekadashi Tithi will start from 04:34 pm on January 28 and will continue till 01:56 pm on January 29. It is believed that by bathing, meditating and worshiping on this day, all the sins of a person are destroyed and paves the way for purity, victory and salvation in life. In the scriptures, Jaya Ekadashi has been described as the Ekadashi that provides freedom from fear and distress.
Auspicious time and importance of bathing on Jaya Ekadashi
According to the scriptures, taking bath in Brahma Muhurta on the day of Jaya Ekadashi is considered very virtuous. This bath is a symbol of self-purification and removes impurities of mind, speech and actions. Bathing in holy rivers has special significance on this day, but householders can also take bath at home by mixing Ganga water in clean water. It is believed that by taking bath on this day, the sins of previous births, especially the sins committed unknowingly, are destroyed. Remembering Lord Vishnu after bathing and wearing clean clothes provides mental peace and positive energy to the person.
How are sins removed by meditation and chanting?
Meditation and chanting the name on Jaya Ekadashi is considered very effective. It is mentioned in the scriptures that chanting Om Namo Narayana Mantra on this day eliminates negativity from the mind and purifies the soul. Meditating on the form of Lord Vishnu during meditation destroys fear, anxiety and negative thoughts. It is believed that the devotee who meditates patiently on this day, his sins are reduced in his life. Especially mental defects like anger, greed, attachment and ego are calmed by this sadhana, due to which the person walks on the path of religion and truth.
Auspicious time and method of Jaya Ekadashi puja
Special importance of Vishnu worship has been given on Jaya Ekadashi. It is considered best to perform the puja in the morning or afternoon. Wear yellow clothes and light a lamp in front of the statue or picture of Lord Vishnu. Perform the ritual worship by offering Tulsi leaves, Akshat and flowers. According to the scriptures, reciting Vishnu Sahasranama on this day is extremely beneficial. It is believed that by worshiping Jaya Ekadashi, the sins of previous births, especially those related to violence and untruth, are destroyed and the devotee receives the blessings of Vishnu.
Which sins are forgiven on Jaya Ekadashi?
According to religious texts, fasting and worshiping Jaya Ekadashi destroys physical and mental sins. It is mentioned in Brahmavaivarta Purana that this Ekadashi also protects from the influence of ghosts, spirits and negative powers. By observing fast on this day, sins arising from false speech, hurting others and ego are eliminated. It is believed that this fast observed with devotion frees the person from fear, grief and disease. This is the reason why Jaya Ekadashi has been called the Ekadashi that grants salvation.
