Amidst the ongoing controversy regarding the new rules of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Kalki Peethadhishwar Acharya Pramod Krishnam has given a big statement. On Wednesday (January 28, 2026) he said that some forces are conspiring to weaken the country by dividing it in the name of caste, religion and class. He emphasized that today India needs unity and social harmony the most.
Acharya Pramod Krishnam had come to attend a condolence meeting in Shyamnagar village of Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh. During this, while talking to the media, he expressed concern over the current situation in the country.
Appeal to PM Modi and Central Government
Acharya Pramod Krishnam appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government to take effective steps to strengthen the unity of the country. He said, “Concrete and effective steps should be taken to strengthen the unity and social harmony of the country. It is very important to end the discrimination spread in the society in the name of castes.” He also said that the responsibility of uniting the society is not only of the government but of every citizen.
Shankaracharya also spoke on the controversy
Acharya Pramod also expressed his opinion on the controversy to Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda Saraswati. He said that the police and administration should have acted with more restraint and wisdom in this matter. Expressing concern, he said that the issue which was earlier limited to the state level, has now taken a national form, which is not good for Sanatan Dharma.
He said, “Some powers are deliberately fanning such issues to weaken the Sanatan traditions and create confusion in the society.” He urged all the saints, religious leaders and responsible people to act with restraint and discretion.
Expressed grief over the demise of Ajit Pawar
During the conversation, Acharya Pramod Krishnam also expressed deep condolences on the demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a tragic accident. He described it as a great loss to the country’s politics and public life and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
